Education
We collaborate with educators, scholars, and community
leaders to co-create leading professional development
materials and curriculum. We also host events for educators
to exchange best practices and partner with youth-centered
organizations to develop opportunities for students to find
their voice.

Civic Engagement
The enabling legislation of the National Endowment for the
Humanities (NEH) provides that our “democracy demands the
wisdom of its citizens.” We believe that the charge of the NEH calls
upon MHC not only to inform citizens about the mechanics of our
democratic republic and its development throughout history but
also to share and hear the stories of their fellow citizens to help
them to develop the skills and desire to work together, across their
differences, to build a better common life and a stronger union.

Public Programming
From designing traveling exhibits to showcasing authors
to hosting panel conversations, we partner tirelessly with
individuals, creatives, institutions, and organizations across
the state to develop a wide array of programs that facilitate
thought-provoking dialogue, reveal often overlooked
stories, and create spaces for all voices to be heard.

Immersive
MHC develops immersive programming to allow individuals
to better understand and appreciate the rich tapestry of
communities in Minnesota. Collaboratively curated experiences
transport us to a place of understanding and respect for
people everywhere. When we share delicious foods, listen to
a poem or song, or breathe the air where we never stood
before, we open ourselves to learning and making connections
with neighbors.
