As we reflect on the incredible work being done over the past year at the Minnesota Humanities
Center, I find myself deeply moved by the power of the stories shared through our programs.
These stories remind us of one important truth: we are never alone. Each narrative, whether
personal or collective, has the power to create a sense of community that binds us together.
When we listen to one another, we realize that no matter our backgrounds or experiences,
we all seek connection.
Kristie Lazenberry | St. Paul
Director of Equity Strategy,
St. Paul Area Chamber
I say this as an only child because I now understand that it’s in those moments of shared
storytelling that we feel understood, seen, and part of something bigger than ourselves.
Dr. Matt Lindstrom | Collegeville
Prof. of Political Science, College of
Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University
This sense of community is perhaps more important than ever. In a world that is increasingly
divided, stories can be a bridge which help to mend those rifts and remind us of our shared
humanity. At the Minnesota Humanities Center, we believe in fostering these connections,
ensuring that every person’s voice has a stage and an audience. And together, we build
a stronger, more inclusive Minnesota.

But this mission doesn’t thrive on stories alone. It’s not about how much any one of us gives –
whether it’s resources, time, or attention – it’s that we choose to give. Whether it’s the Board
of Directors supporting MHC’s critical work, volunteers giving their talents, or program
participants giving their time to be better listeners and more engaged community members,
every act of generosity matters and allows the Minnesota Humanities Center to continue
to share its mission statewide.
Carolyn Roby | Minneapolis
Senior Vice President,
Wells Fargo, (Retired)
It’s these collective efforts that sustain the heart of the Minnesota Humanities Center
so, from the Board of Directors, thank you for your continued support, whether you are
sharing a story, attending an event, or reaching out to someone who needs to be heard.
You are now a part of our story.
