Strong Foundations
& Committed Partners
Strategic
Priorities
The work of MHC is amplified by financial support from our national,
regional and local sponsors and donors who believe in the power
of connections and deeper understanding.
Our work continues to be guided by the following strategic priorities,
adopted by the Minnesota Humanities Center Board of Directors,
Fall 2023:
—
Prioritize Organizational Strength creating a strong, diverse, and
inclusive organization that excels in operations, governance, and
financial management.
—
Champion Innovative and Responsive Programming that increases a
collective understanding in society, with particular emphasis on stories
of traditionally marginalized and underrepresented communities
throughout Minnesota.
—
Ensure Broad Humanities Support of individuals, creatives, scholars
and organizations throughout the state through partnership with the
Minnesota Legislature, National Endowment for the Humanities, and
private donors.
We want to thank these corporations and organizations for their
commitment to bettering the lives of our neighbors by funding our
programs and experiences across Minnesota at the $10,000 or above level:
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Hardenbergh Foundation,
Initiative Foundation, Minneapolis Foundation, National Endowment
for the Humanities, Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community,
Teagle Foundation, Thrivent Financial.
Additional generous funding is provided by: African American Leadership
Forum, Bremer Bank, League of Women Voters of Minnesota, Medtronic,
Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, Mortenson, Mutual of America,
Park Street Public. Every sponsorship, individual donation, volunteer
hour, or shared social media post is vital to our work, and we are so
grateful to our village of supporters. For questions on sponsorships,
donations or how you can be involved, please contact Ann Mayers,
Director of Development, ann@mnhum.org or 651.772.4262.

MHC, consistent with accounting best practices, recognizes funds as revenue when appropriated to MHC. While MHC’s FY24 Financial
statement may appear to indicate a financial deficit, MHC is financially solvent as the revenue recognized by MHC in FY23 exceeds our
expenses in FY23 and FY24.
