Understanding Through Immersion
Immersive experiences that engage our senses
of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste
allow us to be transported from our everyday
surroundings to improve learning, memory
retention, and emotional connection. MHC
has a wide variety of immersive experiences
that help people learn about the stories,
history, people, and places of Minnesota.
MHC celebrates communities within the state through the
Feeding Our Souls: The Essence of Joy events series, which uses
food as a conduit to discuss culture and tell stories. Each event
features multi-cultural delicacies, cooking techniques, chefs,
and businesses.
Across the globe, the headscarf is worn by women for
expressions of cultural identity, health, religious beliefs, and as
a fashion statement. Headscarf Story Circles were created to
foster a place for expression, dialogue, and inspiration. In a
powerful display of support, November 15 was declared
“Headscarf Day” in Rochester by Mayor Kim Norton.
