Grantmaking
Theatre Novi Most
Cultural Heritage Grant
As a direct artistic response to the Russian
invasion of Ukraine, the theater worked with
playwright Andrei Kureichik, dramaturg
Wendy Weckwerth, directors Lisa Channer
and Vladimir Rovinsky, and community
advisors to create the new play “An Ocean
Away”. This play told the stories of
immigrants from the post-Soviet diaspora
living in Minnesota who are watching the
war in Ukraine from afar.

The Park Place
Arts & Music Education Grant
This project expanded culturally rooted arts
and music enrichment for Latine youth in
South Minneapolis, integrating a no-cost
arts program taught by professional
Latine artists into existing after-school
elementary programming, creating a
more expansive, educational offering
focused on cultural preservation.
Tiwahe Foundation
Cultural Heritage Grant
Tiwahe developed an online home for the
Oyate Leadership Network, a facilitated,
relational space where Indigenous leaders
from across Minnesota come together to
reflect, connect, and collectively navigate
how to embody traditional knowledge and

lives and community.
