Gwen Nell Westerman is Minnesota’s Poet Laureate,
an enrolled member of the Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota Oyate
Nation, and the first Native poet to hold the role of Laureate for
Minnesota. MHC is honored to facilitate the appointment process
for the Minnesota State Laureate and promote and coordinate
the work of the Poet Laureate through statewide programming.
